The kitchen and bath are the highest touched rooms in your home and what I hope you take away from this is that this does not mean it has to be in an institutional or commercial setting like a hospital or mall bathroom to be hands-free. There are many choices that are designed for your home, and they are beautiful products.
One of my absolute favourites for the bathroom is the Delta Telsa Touch ®. You can turn this faucet on and off with proximity, manually or simply with the touch of your wrist. It comes in chrome, polished nickel and stainless steel to match any décor.
Of course, we must mention the technology of American Standard’s Studio Activate toilet. Simply wave your hand over the activation on the side of the toilet and flush it will! You also have the option of manually pushing the flush activator if you choose. Another wonderful feature of American Standard toilets is the Ever Clean Antimicrobial surface ®, this will eliminate bacteria from staying on the finish, a nice comfort for those who have busy households.
Now let’s not forget about your kitchen! Kitchens are busy, we are not eating out as often with many restrictions in place. Although we love to hear that our communities are supporting local businesses with takeout and social distancing protocols while dining in, we are still spending more time in our own kitchens.
Delta has some beautiful options that are available in many styles and colours to work with a wide range of kitchen designs. The Trinsic VoiceIQ, hits all the marks! You can voice activate this faucet and request it to pre-warm the water or pour you a specific amount of water required for your favourite recipe!
The point is that you have options. There are bath fans that are activated by movement or humidity levels, even motion activated light switches. You can operate any light in your home straight from your phone. If hands-free is an important feature for you, I recommend you do some research as many of our leading suppliers have amazing R&D teams working on hands-free options every day while keeping it stylish!
